Flying Bold and Opalina were quick to begin. Grapefruit Tito was slow to begin.
Wandering Phil (crossed out, turned his head out and visibly eased entering back straight), underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Ms. Brittany Bourke declined a re-examination. Stewards spoke to representative Ms. Brittany Bourke regarding Wandering Phil’s racing manners in the back straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Wandering Phil was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms. Bourke pleaded guilty to the charge. Wandering Phil was suspended for 28 days (1st offence) at Sandown only and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
