Steward's Report
Aston Russell and Bun Quake were quick to begin.
Reprieval began to lose ground turning out of the front straight and performed below market expectations ($2.40). A post-race veterinary examination revealed the greyhound to have a chest injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms. Samantha Bradley regarding Reprieval's overall performance in the event. Pursuant to GAR 122, the Stewards requested Ms. Bradley to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Reprieval in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.
Aston Golea (faltered in the home straight) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hock fracture. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
There was no head-on vision available in the back straight for this event.
Following the running of the event, Stewards inspected the track in the home straight and deemed it suitable for racing.
