In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed ‘Heat Affected’. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 23.3 degrees and the kennel temperature was 14.8 degrees. Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue, as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.

Stewards conducted a carpark check on the vehicles of all trainers engaged in today’s meeting. Stewards were satisfied that all transport had adhered to the GRV Hot Weather Policy and the GRV Transportation of Greyhounds Policy. 

Whatever It Is was quick to begin. Sleek Machine was slow to begin.

Yedda (turned its head outwards during the run ) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 3, and was found to have a left stopper abrasion, no stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Cody Hose regarding Yedda’s racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Yedda was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury) Mr Cody pleaded guilty to the charge. Yedda must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Aurora Sky Force (lost ground soon after the start ) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the gracilis, deltoid and shoulder muscle. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Eventful Dash and Perfect Jenny were slow to begin.

Morning Sam and White Dove were slow to begin.

Lovely Romeo was slow to begin.

Lovely Romeo (faltered at the 100m mark and lost ground), underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle muscle injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed. 

Little Whip – Late scratching at 10:36am on the advice of the On–Track Veterinarian (GAR 92) due to a right wrist injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Sandy Creek was quick to begin. Audacious Rachel was slow to begin.

A pre-race urine sample was taken from Lily Marleen.

Lily Marleen was slow to begin.

Lakeview Kim was quick to begin.

It was noted that the muzzle of Bruce became partially dislodged soon after the start.

Transit Lounge was quick to begin. Pies and Sauce were slow to begin.

Aston Katy and Astronomica were slow to begin.

A post-race urine sample was taken from Classy Dancer - the winner of the event.

Blonde Mustang – Late scratching at 11:04am on the advice of the On–Track Veterinarian (GAR 92) due to having an eye condition. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Bernie Ender after he presented Blonde Mustang to race with an injury. Mr. Ender was issued with a warning in accordance with GAR 76(1)(a) and they were advised to conduct a thorough examination of his greyhound prior to the appointed scratching time to ensure that he presents them free from injury. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted.

Not Forgiven – Late scratching at 11:06am due to weight variation (GAR 101). Not Forgiven is not permitted to compete for 10 days in any other Event. Trainer, Mr. David Schwarz was fined $100.
