Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed ‘Heat Affected’. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 23.3 degrees and the kennel temperature was 14.8 degrees. Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue, as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.
Stewards conducted a carpark check on the vehicles of all trainers engaged in today’s meeting. Stewards were satisfied that all transport had adhered to the GRV Hot Weather Policy and the GRV Transportation of Greyhounds Policy.
Whatever It Is was quick to begin. Sleek Machine was slow to begin.
Yedda (turned its head outwards during the run ) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 3, and was found to have a left stopper abrasion, no stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Cody Hose regarding Yedda’s racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Yedda was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury) Mr Cody pleaded guilty to the charge. Yedda must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Aurora Sky Force (lost ground soon after the start ) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the gracilis, deltoid and shoulder muscle. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
