Steward's Report
Flowerpot Bert was quick to begin.
Hey Tommy was galloped on by Why not Harvey on the first turn causing Why Not Harvey and Hey Tommy to fall and severely checking Andy Dufresne who subsequently pulled up. These 3 underwent post-race veterinary examinations:
Andy Dufresne was found to have spike wounds to both front legs. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. Lindsay Fulford regarding Andy Dufresne’s racing manners soon after the start and on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Andy Dufresne was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Fulford pleaded guilty to the charge. Andy Dufresne must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Why Not Harvey was found to have a right front humerus fracture and was humanely euthanised.
Hey Tommy – No apparent injury was reported.
A post-race urine sample was taken from Flowerpot Bert - the winner of the event.
