Steward's Report
Pursuant to GAR 139, an out of competition urine sample was taken from the following greyhound: Absolute Rupee (11 February).
Phineas Nigellus and Ivory Mihara were quick to begin. Reprieval, So He Thinks and Weblec Memphis were slow to begin.
Phineas Nigellus (galloped on turning out of the front straight and subsequently fell) underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Reprieval (checked turning out of the front straight and lost ground thereafter) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following Race 2. Reprieval was found to have injuries to the left and right calf muscles and left shin soreness. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Daniel Gibbons regarding Reprieval's overall performance in the event. Pursuant to GAR 122, the Stewards requested Mr. Gibbons to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Reprieval in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.
