Mr Mark McClelland was issued with a $200 fine pursuant to GAR 156(w) for failing to adhere to the GRV transport policy.

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed ‘Heat Affected’. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 31.5 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.9 degrees. Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue, as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.
Due to an electrical fault there was no green light at the 450m boxes for this meeting. Therefore, the lure was activated by a hand signal from the starter for all 450m races.
Aston Ares was slow to begin.
A post–race urine sample was taken from Deep Thinker – the winner of the event.
