In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed ‘Heat Affected’. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 30.1 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.6 degrees. Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue, as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy..
Blame Karissa was slow to begin.
Blame Karissa, contacted the rail in the back striaght - underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left back muscle injury and abrasions to the left hock. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
