Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed ‘Heat Affected’. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 30 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.4 degrees. Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue, as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.
Patty Bouvier – Late scratching at 2:51pm when Mr. Michele Berry reported the greyhound to have an illness (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted.
Victory Yacht was quick to begin. He's All Talk and Know Your Worth were slow to begin.
Melvin Bale underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have right hock and left metatarsal laceration. No stand down period was imposed.. Stewards spoke to Ms Samantha Grenfell regarding the racing manners of Melvin Bale approaching the home turn. After hearing submissions from Ms Grenfell, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, Stewards took no further action.
A post–race urine sample was taken from Roy Intention – the winner of the event.
