Steward's Report
Lady Belmont – Late scratching at 8:27am when trainer Mr Peter Craig reported the greyhound to have a laceration (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted.
Excellent dash was quick to begin.
Jazz Band (turned head inwards and eased approaching the winning post) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left pencil muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. Graeme Campbell regarding Jazz Band’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Jazz Band was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Campbell pleaded guilty to the charge. Jazz Band must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
