Steward's Report
Oh Biscuit was quick to begin.
Silent Knight (checked several times throughout the event) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right carpal sprain and a left back muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Rev Oberon (turned it's head outwards and marred Silent Knight approaching the home turn) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have thumps. No stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative Mr. Jordan Bryce regarding Rev Oberon’s racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Rev Oberon was charged with marring. Mr. Bryce pleaded guilty to the charge. Rev Oberon is suspended for 28 days (1st offence) at Bendigo and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race urine sample was taken from Oh Biscuit - the winner of the event.
