Steward's Report
Pursuant to GAR 75(6), Kennel Attendant Mrs J.Hooke did not act in any official capacity that may have in any way affected the outcome of this event.
High Cotton was quick to begin.
Flying Speed (eased and pulled up in the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr C.Goodman regarding Flying Speeds’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Flying Speed was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Goodman pleaded guilty to the charge. Flying Speed was found guilty and suspended for three months (3rd offence) at all tracks and must perform two Satisfactory Trials in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Edinburgh Bale (turned its head inwards approaching the winning post) underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Representative Mr L.Harris regarding Edinburgh Bale’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Edinburgh Bale was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Harris pleaded guilty to the charge. Edinburgh Bale was found guilty and suspended for 28 days (2nd offence) at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
