Steward's Report
Lightning Quick – Late scratching at 3:32pm when trainer Mr. Brendan Pursell reported the greyhound to have an illness (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted.
Traumatise was quick to begin. Crackerjack Ralf, Mepunga Breeze and Mr. Teddy Bear were slow to begin.
Crackerjack Ralf (racing manners approaching the winning post) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right shin and left wrist. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Jordan Cooper regarding the racing manners of Crackerjack Ralf approaching the winning post. After hearing submissions from Mr. Cooper, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, Stewards took no further action.
Post-race blood and urine samples were taken from Traumatise - the winner of the event. Stewards noted that Traumatise's official time of 29.359 was a new track record for the 525m distance.
A post-race urine sample was taken from Room To Breathe (2nd).
