Steward's Report
A pre-race urine sample was taken from Need You Now.
Mandolin Storm and Mamasan were quick to begin. Norbit was slow to begin.
Mandolin Storm was galloped on by Quick Aussie and Mamasan entering the turn off back straight causing Mandolin Storm to suddenly lose momentum. Quick Aussie was severely checked and ultimately tailed off. Meanwhile, Mandolin Storm, Voltage Strike and Need You Now each fell in the same incident. All four greyhounds underwent post-race veterinary examinations:
- Mandolin storm was found to have no apparent injury.
- Voltage Strike was found to have no apparent injury.
- Need You Now was found to have shin soreness on the left hind. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
- Quick Aussie was found to have a suspected right hock fracture. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
