Windorah and Balding Sandy were quick to begin. Mepunga Zircon and Ralph Wiggum were slow to begin.
Stewards spoke to trainer Ms. Deb Carr regarding the racing manners of Balding Sandy in the front straight. After hearing submissions from Ms. Carr, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, Stewards took no further action.
A post-race urine sample was taken from Lightning Quick - the winner of the event.
