Athens Aura and Perfectly were quick to begin. Hurry Dusty was slow to begin.
Toowoomba Willy (marred Perfectly in the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have sand toe on the left hind-foot. No stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms. Donna Knight regarding Toowoomba Willy’s racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Toowoomba Willy was charged with marring. Ms. Knight pleaded guilty to the charge. Toowoomba Willy was suspended for three months (3rd offence) at all tracks and must perform two Satisfactory Trials in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
