Steward's Report
Whiskey Ninja was quick to begin. Paw Ursula was slow to begin.
Following the event, Rhonda Gem displayed mild signs of Post Exercise Distress Syndrome (PEDS). As a result, the greyhound underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to be displaying clinical signs of ataxia/hypermetria. A 7 day stand down penalty was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms. Lesley Russell, the trainer of Rhonda Gem, and advised her that the greyhound would be closely monitored in future starts.
A post-race urine sample was taken from Whisky Ninja - the winner of the event.
