Steward's Report
Our Gem – Late scratching at 10:20pm on 05/07/2025 when Mr. Colin Baker reported the greyhound to have diarrhoea (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted.
Waltzing Aurora was quick to begin. Be A Secret was slow to begin.
Waltzing Aurora and Sandy Mikado raced wide throughout the event and collided approaching the winning post, causing Sandy Mikado to lose ground.
Be A Secret (raced ungenerous over the concluding stages of the event) underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to kennel representative Mr. Gary McMillan regarding the racing manners of Be A Secret. After hearing submissions from Mr. McMillan, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, a warning was issued.
A post-race urine sample was taken from Catch Maxwell - the winner of the event.
