Running Sinker - New declared weight of 37kg, last raced at 35.9kg.
Sharon's Lass was quick to begin. Scotch Neat was slow to begin.
Running Sinker (turned its head outwards entering the home straight and approaching the winning post) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right pencil muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Miss Nadine Jack regarding Running Sinker’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Running Sinker was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Miss Jack pleaded not guilty to the charge. Running Sinker was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
