Steward's Report
A pre–race urine sample was taken from Wally Wagtail.
Go Fish, Rain Bomb and Wally Wagtail were slow to begin.
Wally Wagtail (marred Rain Bomb in the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a torn right toe nail. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. David Wightman regarding Wally Wagtail’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Wally Wagtail was charged with marring Mr. Wightman pleaded guilty to the charge. Wally Wagtail was suspended for 28 days (2nd offence) at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Rain Bomb (severely checked turning into the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a wound on the left and right hindleg. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Post–race hair and urine samples were taken from Wow Girl – the winner of the event.
