Edina was quick to begin. Magic Sock was slow to begin.
Bust Up (checked and fell turning off the back straight) underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Lovely Bubbly (turned head outwards turning off the back straight) underwent a post-race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr. Ronald Dunne regarding Lovely Bubbly racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Lovely Bubbly was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Dunne pleaded guilty to the charge. Lovely Bubbly suspended for 28 days (1st offence) at Geelong and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Paw Xaria (checked turning off the back straight) underwent a post-race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
Magic Sock (faltered on the turn in to the home straight) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock injury. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race urine sample was taken from This Black Duck - winner of the event.
The track was inspected turning in to the home straight and deemed satisfactory for racing.
