Steward's Report
Miss D Smith was issued with a warning under GAR156(f) for negligence, after the greyhound Axel's Radar was placed in the incorrect kennel during the kennelling process. Similarly, Club Officials were reminded of their responsibilities and the matter was referred to the Club Manager.
A pre-race urine sample was taken from Morning.
Never Look Back was quick to begin. Boondocks and Archer Sweet were slow to begin.
Morning, checked, stumbled and lost ground approaching home turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle and a right triangle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards opened an inquiry into the actions of Mrs T Womann after she engaged an unlicensed person to catch the greyhound Never Look Back in this event. A charge under GAR 156(f) (ii) was issued to Mrs T Womann. Mrs T Womann pleaded not guilty to the charge. Mrs T Womann was found guilty and was fined $250.
