Steward's Report
A urine sample was taken from Straight Speed upon arrival at the course.
Suntory Lisa was quick to begin. Grannie May went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin. Eat You Spinach was slow to begin.
Suntory Lisa – Stewards were satisfied with the boxing of the greyhound and removed the boxed first endorsement for future events, in accordance with GAR 106.
Romantic City, checked and lost ground approaching home turn and underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
Suntory Lisa underwent a post–race veterinary examination at the trainer’s request and was found to have a right sartorius muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Straight Speed - marred Suntory Lisa in the home straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a hygroma on the left elbow. No stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to trainer Mr C Bermingham regarding Straight Speed’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Straight Speed was charged with marring. Mr C Bermingham pleaded guilty to the charge. Straight Speed was suspended for three months (3rd offence) at all tracks and must perform two Satisfactory Trials in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
